Charger features a choice of powerful engines to satisfy every driver's performance requirements: Standard on SE, the 2.7-litre V6 provides 178 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque. A 3.5-litre High Output V6, standard on SXT, provides 250 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque. A 5.7-litre HEMI® VVT V8, standard on R/T, produces 370 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque. A 6.1-litre HEMI V8, standard on SRT8, produces 425 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque.
Electronically-controlled, with an aggressive first-gear launch ratio, efficiently providing excellent launch performance, if desired. Overdrive feature provides fuel-efficient low-rpm cruising. Auto/Stick™ gives the driver the ability to select a higher or lower range of ratios, for the sporty feel of a clutchless manual shift or the smoothness of an automatic. Standard with the 5.7L and 6.1L HEMI® V8 engines; also standard on SXT with AWD.
Fully adaptive electronic control of all shifting allows for smooth operation. Standard on SE and SXT.

The 5.7-litre HEMI® VVT V8 engine offers 368 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque on R/T models, providing an exhilarating muscle car driving experience. The HEMI's Multi-Displacement System (MDS) seamlessly deactivates four cylinders when V8 power is not needed, helping increase fuel economy.
Charger offers more power at an affordable price, providing excellent value for a car that's a thrill to drive and exciting to own. Available on R/T models equipped with the Road/Track Performance Group and standard on Daytona R/T.
The available Road/Track Performance Group on R/T models includes 20-inch chrome-clad wheels with all-season performance tires, performance steering and suspension, performance front seats with perforated suede microfibre inserts, front chin and rear trunklid spoiler, performance shocks, high speed engine cnotroller, leather-wrapped steering wheel and Media Centre 430 multimedia system.
Charger SRT8's rear fascia features integrated lower strakes to direct air flow and aggressive cut-outs to accommodate dual 89 millimeter (3.5-inch) exhaust tips.
